As discussed in Plovdiv, it would be a good idea to publish a weekly digest of changes on the 3D platform.

So, every week I’ll post a new entry here including the summary of changes that are relevant to any of the users, including artists, admins & clients. Internal updates such as refactoring, bugfixes or performance improvements won’t be listed.

Writing the summary is tedious work but it’s been requested several times already, so I guess it’s important enough.

Revisions panel on image screen

All images have a side column which is hidden by default, opening it will reveal the list of previous versions of the loaded item.

If you have permissions, you should be able to delete any of the revisions except if:

  • The revision has comments.
  • The revision has already been approved.
  • It’s the first version, deleting the main version is only possible from the screen to upload images. Note that this will delete the whole item itself so all revisions will also disappear.

Images are now responsive

On the image screen, the image will be adjusted to the available size. The zoom will continue to work no matter what size the image is, also the pointers will be repositioned after the resizing.

Comments on approvals

It’s now possible to write a comment on any approval.

Other updates

  • In the overview screen, we now show the amount of models that have VR.
  • The buttons to approve objects have been moved as there was no space for them in the page headers.
  • On the model history screen, some events will be combined to shorten its length. More specifically, when several revisions are uploaded they may be combined to show something like “Revision #2 uploaded, 3 images”.
  • The info messages for clients that warn of the revision limit is now also displayed on the image screen.
  • On the messageboard, we now have a “Copy permalink” button on each message. This is useful when combined with the approval comments, so we can link an approval to a message.
